.....although being a Union member can be an advantage, being a Union member can also be a great disadvantage. Union leaders will work for namely increased wages because this benefits the Union bosses too. Union leaders will work for better working conditions, because this enables a Union member to work longer and work safely, so that the member can pay Union dues for a longer period of time, which also benefits the Union leaders or bosses too.

However, if you as a Union member, in the event you are unlawfully violated by any company, such that your lawful right to work and good reputation are tarnished or damaged by any company, by and large, Unions are in bed with or in a contract with the company to side with the company to not sue the business or company who violated you, to sue or seek Constitutionally mandated redress in your behalf.

How well I know, for almost thirty years I was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, local 18, and when the LADWP violated my right work and defamed my good character, the IBEW, Local 18, did not defend my interests. I had to defend and sue for redress on my own, the result being Los Angeles Superior Court Case BC385899, which to date is not resolved, namely unresolved because of dysfunctional elected black leaders who have no respect for the U.S. Constitution, the "Oath of Office", the California Constitution, the Los Angeles County Charter and/or the Los Angeles City Charter.
