Christmas in Torrance: Cheesy sweaters and Santa
I live in the City of Torrance, which is a beach community in Southern California. There are a few Christmas traditions around here. A couple weeks ago I provided photos of one of them; that being the Christmas lights in Sleepy Hollow, otherwise known as Candy Cane Lane. You can see those photos at http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-889727
Another tradition, one I was not aware of, is the celebration of cheesy Christmas sweaters. On Saturday I attended the 3rd Annual Cheesy Xmas Sweater Party. There was enough cheese to load 100 mousetraps. You can see all the photos from that event at http://www.gotbaddog.com/cheesy-christmas-sweaters/
Another Christmas tradition that has been going on since at least 1992 is Santa's Sleigh, which is sponsored by the Torrance Police Officers Association. Santa's Sleigh goes up and down the streets of Torrance, making stops on every block so that kids and their families can visit for a short while with Santa and get their photos taken with him. You can see all my photos from his recent stop by my home at http://www.gotbaddog.com/torrance-police-officers-assoc-santa/
