    I've got this.

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     iReporter and University of Michigan biomedical engineering student Elizabeth Curtiss Hyde tells us that she spent two months of this summer in Ghana as part of her course.

Although much of the time was spent observing conditions in sub-Saharan birth centres, a visit to a waterfall in Kintampo, Ghana gave Elizabeth’s friend Jenna Boeing the opportunity to capture her in this refreshing shot.

“This waterfall was a much-needed breath of empowerment,” says Elizabeth.
    - mjponsford, CNN iReport producer

I spent the summer before my senior year at the University of Michigan in Ghana researching sub-Saharan African maternal and infant healthcare. I have no pictures from the birth centers I visited, but this day in Kintampo, Ghana highlights the outcome of the trip well. This summer was my first step toward building a career in global health.
