    Women's Rights and Development in Pattani

    December 13 - Thailand's Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra met with members of the Women's Development Fund in Pattani.

    Yingluck expressed her continued support in advocating women's issues, placing emphasis on women participation in decision-making and exchanging of inspiration.

    Pattani, a southern province of Thailand, borders Malaysia and faces violence committed by militants. Many of their victims are civilians, exposing women and children to extreme vulnerability.

    Yingluck reaffirmed her stand for women, bridging the gender gap in order to protect the people, and the Government is committed to strengthening community building and gender leadership initiatives.
