Newtown school shooting: Thoughts and tributes |
My heart is broken! We need stricter gun controls NOW!
WE HAVE TO COME TOGETHER TO STOP VIOLENCE FOR THE SAKE OF THE FUTURE GENERATIONS! THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD BAN GUNS FOR SELL IN ADVERTISMENTS OF ANY KIND!
On December 14, 2012 a horrifying tragedy descended on a so peaceful American Community: Newtown, Connecticut where a dreadful and senseless violence was carried out and turned against the most innocent amongst us: against precious children. Their so promising lives were cut brutally short in a vicious and inhuman gun fire. Many parents left behind with a horrible emptiness and unbearable pain in their hearts. As a writer and poet I am fighting since my earliest youth to stop war, terror and violence and I strongly believe that this could be achieved, when especially in Western culture violence would not be glorified. We find it in every place we look, in newspapers, TV ads, films, games even in children games. It is all around us like an ancient curse.
Then I believe that biggest problem is how easy to buy a fire arm of every kind. I just opened today an innocent looking publication and I was so shocked to see all the guns which they are offering openly in a magazine which has a harmless looking cover showing smiling children. These pictures of these guns reduced me to tears as well, because every gun could be potentially used to wipe out an innocent life. I just visited that magazine's web site and I found the exactly same semi automatic rifle which was used in this horrific crime, actually offered for a reduced prize for the Holidays! But because this publication looks so innocent, it also could be looked at by a child. It “impersonating” a family magazine, but they are selling fire arms!
I like to offer my deepest Sympathy to everybody who lost a little Angel Child, a Family Member or Friends in this unspeakable and coward attack. My thoughts and prayers are with the Victims and they May Rest in Peace. But they will live forever in our hearts. I would like to say Thank You from all my heart to the Heroes, to the First Responders who are rescued so many children and comforted them. Please, we all have to come together and look for solutions that such an unspeakable act never will happen again in our so great Country in the United States of America again. Thank you: PuakeaJutka
