    Newtown school shooting

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Magy2misho, an American Egyptian living in Port Said, Egypt, wanted to share her sympathies for the families of the victims, but also wanted people to realize that what these American parents are going through is akin to what parents are going through in Syria, Afghanistan, Palestine and other countries in the Mideast.

"The murder of these innocent children living in America is obviously something very new to America and no one would think in a million years that this can happen in the U.S. But what they don't realize is that other innocent children are being killed almost everyday in countries like Syria, Palestine, Afghanistan...etc. and in my opinion I feel like no one really cares or sympathizes for these innocent kids who I see are no more different than those in America," she said.

"These parents too are trying to live a normal life and raise kids of their own who want to grow up and fulfill all their dreams that a typical American child also has. Kids are kids wherever they are regardless of culture, religion, and place."
    - zdan, CNN iReport producer

Our condolences here in Egypt go out to the family of the deceased. We are very saddened by this horrific criminal act and hope this is a wake up call for the world to realize that what these American parents are going through now is the same as what all parents in Palestine, Syria, and Afghanistan went through when their innocent children were killed ruthlessly.
