“GUN CONTROL” IS THIS REALLY THE CONVERSATION WE NEED TO HAVE…IS THIS REALLY THE SOLUTION?

As I sit here reading comments, blogs and watching the news, I can’t help but to think, “Here we go again!” Here’s some reality on “gun control”, we will never get rid of the hundreds of millions of guns that infest our society. Fact! Because of my pass indiscretions toward the law, I’m not allowed to own a firearm, but if I want a gun I could buy and have whatever type of gun I wanted by the end of this day. Fact! Arming society with conceal and carry, stand your ground laws won’t and didn’t work, this insanity was the law and practiced during the 1800’s…it didn’t work for the wild wild west. Fact!
If we’re going to talk about gun control let’s talk about small; but real solutions, like gun owners liability laws. If you own a gun, you should be totally liable for that gun. (If I leave my keys in my car and someone steals it, then hits and kill someone with it, I can be held liable.) Why is it that I can buy a gun on the streets? Someone at some time had to purchase these guns legally! How is arming society to the teeth going to make that society safer?
I believe the control of guns is only a small facet of the solution to the problems of our society. It is the mentality of our society that we need to be discussing. Whether its mental illness and the lack of available treatment, that thug mentality and how it’s developed, that stand your ground mentality, “I’m going to kill you before you kill me!” The lack of a spiritual mentality
We need to address the root of the problem. Once again a mentally ill person has went out and killed a mass of people and my heartfelt prayers go out to the family of those babies, but you see somebody’s baby got gunned down in Chicago or Brooklyn or in a little town you live in last night. So yes, if we’re going to discuss this; let’s talk real, not just about the emotional moment. Let’s take the politics and the 'us vs. them' rhetoric out of this conversation. Let’s invite and bring some spiritual principles and common sense into this conversation and just maybe….ijs
