Sandy Hook tragedy and the media and entertainment

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     AndrewEB gold me, 'I made this because I am getting very tired of movies and video games being scapegoats whenever a mass shootings happens in America; Americans want something/someone to blame and it seems every time pundits, politicians and parents always point the finger at the violence in movies and videogames. There is a ratings system for a reason; to make sure parents don’t have their children see something that is not appropriate for their age. Not only does trying to regulate entertainment a complete violation of the First Amendment, it is basically a wasted effort as studies have shown they have little to no impact on making children violent. Americans should blame themselves, as the news media places a lot of focus on the killer to bring forth information that answers the all-important question; why?'
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

This is basically my take on why this tragedy happened, as well as a criticism of the people for targeting entertainment like movies and videogames for mass shootings.
