    Teen's tribute to Sandy Hook families

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Scout1119 said her daughter has made an effort to add a personal touch to each angel ornament she creates. ' I do think the angels are helping her deal with [the tragedy], even though it may be making her sad. She could've easily turned away from it, and went about her day as usual. She is making it personal to her, as if she knew them. I am actually glad that she is feeling this grief, because I want her to care about what happens to people.'

    My 13 year old is usually so involved with her own friends that she barely looks up to speak to us. However, for the past few days she's been rushing home to make an angel for each person who lost their life at Sandy Hook Elementary. We decided to let her put the angels on our Christmas tree, instead of our usual array of ornaments. She delivers each little angel to the tree while telling our family everything she has read about them. My husband and I have had to choke back tears every time she places one of the glitter decorated angels so carefully on the Christmas tree. She has also made special angels for the adults who lost their lives, and tells us of their heroic efforts. We feel such sorrow for the family members. Our hearts are breaking for your losses. Thanks to our daughter Kenzie for giving us a way to keep them in our thoughts.
