    Gun control debate: Background checks

Owning and working in the firearms industry

I grew up in a small household with parents that where and still are anti-gun. Always something i was interested in but could never try. Fast forward to when i turned 21 and bought my first handgun. I picked it up to learn how to shoot. After a few months of target shooting i got into competitive USPSA pistol shooting. On my 22nd birthday I bought my first AR-15. Again another purchase to learn how it worked and try a different way of enjoying the shooting sports. Well at this point I fell in love with the entire shooting community. The people and events made every weekend more fun than the next. I started working at a local gun shop to help offset the costs of my shooting hobby and that has since turned into a carrier. I'm now 25 and work at one of the largest AR-15 manufactures in the country and its truly my dream job. I have come from the anti-gun background to being a true enthusiast. These guns dont hurt people. Its the people that have no right in owning or operating them that hurt the entire shooting world. I spend every day surrounded by people that need this industry to survive and to provide for their families. If something like an Assault weapons Ban comes. They and thousands more will be included in Obama's unemployment numbers.
