    Getting Gas During a Blizzard

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     jarrett989 was traveling on the highway when he faced a blizzard, but he said the storm that swept through Illinois on December 20 did not seem to carry a large quantity of snow into area. He says the icy conditions in Springfield, Illinois, were primarily caused by hours of cold rainfall, which he says brought down temperatures. While traveling, he stopped at a gas station and photographed a frozen gas gauge. 'I made a quick stop for coffee and to refuel when I saw that the credit card reader was frozen shut. People's vehicles were caked with ice, as was the ground. It was extremely hazardous driving conditions,' he said.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

You'll have to pay inside tonight at this gas station just south of Springfield, IL. Heavy winds and lowering temperatures covered the roads- and structures- with ice.
