    In memory of the sandy hook victims

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     mmgomez85, a nurse and mother in Carroll, Iowa, saw a Facebook post that encouraged people to wear green and white on December 17 to show support for the Sandy Hook Elementary School victims. She sent her daughter to school in this outfit. She also sent a bouquet of green and white balloons along with treats to her daughter's elementary school 'to thank our teachers and staff for all they do everyday and in honor of Sandy Hook.'

    She said, 'It's scary because one of those children could have easily been my daughter. It could have been our school ... I see all the nice comments the community has to say about the teachers that lost their lives. I hope they had a chance to hear how appreciated they were. Our lives are so busy, we don't take them time to give thanks or show appreciation and we don't even realize it.'
