    NRA right...and very wrong

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     omekongo, a motivational speaker who works in schools, and a frequent iReport commentator, addresses Friday's remarks by the National Rifle Association's top lobbyist, saying while he made some interesting points about what our society values, the comments were disrespectful to victims of gun violence and mental illness and missed the point.

In the video, Dibinga says, 'I speak in many schools across the country where they already have armed guards and there have still been victims of gun violence in those schools. The NRA leadership simply does not get it ... More guns are not the answer. As much as I have respect for law enforcement, one or two armed guards is not going to do anything against assault rifles, particularly shot at them at a distance, particularly with armor-piercing bullets ... Armor-piercing bullets are used to kill soldiers and to kill cops.'
    - dsashin, CNN iReport producer

While Mr. LaPierre made some relevant points about what we value in this society, his overall notion that everything is to blame in America except access to guns shows that the leadership of the NRA still misses the point.
