This iReport is part of an assignment:
Christmas where you live |
Lessons and Carols
Performers included the Chancel Choir, the Jubilate Ringers and Confirmation Ringers, the Messiah, Alleluia and Cherub children's choirs, the Winds of the Spirit flute ensemble, the Brass Consort and organist Beverley Duffy. In this photo, Dr. David Johnson, the director of music ministry at Faith Lutheran, is leading the Jubilate Ringers and the Chancel Choir.
In addition to familiar carols such as O Come, O Come, Emmanuel; What Child Is This? and Angels We Have Heard on High, the ensembles performed John Behnke's The Wonder of Christ's Birth. The Rev. Randy Olson read excerpts from the Scriptures along with poetry by Robert Southwell, George Wither and Gregory of Nyssa.
