Two militants, Police cop killed in Kulgam encounter
Kulgam, Dec 24: Two militants of Lashker-e-Toiba outfit along with Jammu and Kashmir police constable got killed in Kulgam encounter that broke out between militants and security forces in the evening hours of Monday, in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District.
Killed militants believed to be involved in Hotel Silver Star Shoot out, were identified as Mudisir Ahmad Sheikh @ Mawyia resident of Yamrach Yaripora Kulgam and Tamim a Pakistani militant, who was heading the district.
Kulgam police along with 9RR and 18 CRPF launched a joint operation at Dodhipora, Kulgam during which millitants fired upon the search party and tried to flee. However, the operational parties pursued them and killed both the militants in the open paddy fields between Dodhipora and Nanibugh.
Killed Policeman has been identified as Neyaz Ahmad resident of Doda. Arms and ammunition including 2 AK47 Rifles has been recovered by the forces from the spot.
