    Alexander Hamilton Christmas Ornament

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     When pinecover first saw this ornament years ago, she wondered, who would hang the bust of Alexander Hamilton -- the first U.S. Secretary of the Treasury -- on their tree? 'And then I realized that it was actually perfect for ours,' she said. Vice President Aaron Burr, who shot his political rival in a duel, had no direct descendants, but the iReporter said her family descends from Burr's father through an ancient Burr line in Connecticut. 'It happened a long time ago, there's nothing we can do now, but we can still invite the spirit of Hamilton to join us in holiday celebration.'

    One of our distant relatives killed Alexander Hamilton in a dual. When I found this Christopher Radko - Alexander Hamilton ornament, I just knew it had to be on our tree.
    Every year, we take him out of our ornament box, apologize to him for our family’s indiscretion and wish him a Merry Christmas nonetheless.
