Twas the Night Before Christmas
One of the things I love doing when I teach kids, especially in 1st and 2nd Grade is to give them a sticker for giving correct answers and when they get ready to go home in the afternoon. I love reading stories to them and my all time favorite story for this time of the year is "The Night Before Christmas". I don't know if these 1st graders had the story read to them this year, so this is my personal tribute for them. Just think of how magical and fun Christmas is to a 6-7 year old.
Be not afraid of this strange new place my little ones;
We have not missed Christmas, it is almost here;
There's no need to cry and fret and be upset;
I am with you, close and near;
I am your teacher and we have lots to learn and lots to do;
I will not let harm come to you;
I am with you and shall keep you safe;
I am so proud of you all, you each get a Christmas sticker for being so brave and courageous.
