My parents and I (Elise) live in Lovettsville, VA, and we'd been keeping a close eye on the weather as we have horses and we wanted to know how bad it was going to get. At first, we thought we were getting snow, but then it looked like it was simply going to be some sleet, and I was slightly depressed as I haven't seen a white Christmas in years. We continued to keep an eye on the weather reports and soon discovered that they were reporting that the weather would clear by Christmas morning. I was depressed and, feeling nostalgic, picked up a snowglobe that we've had for many years that has a huge snowflake in it and shook it three times and silently wished for snow. Not two hours later, light flurries started to fall. It was supposed to stop by two o'clock that afternoon (Christmas Eve), but it didn't and instead continued on and accumulated for several hours. This morning I woke up, and for the first time in years, I was waking up to a white Christmas. Purely magical!
