    It's White Christmas in Dallas!

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     shail85 is a software engineer and freelance photographer in Dallas, Texas. He shot these photos of the rare Christmas Day snow storm, which left two inches of snow in many parts of the metropolitan area. He shot the photos between 5 and 6 p.m. using a Cannon T2i DSLR and made the collages using Picasa software. As he notes in his iReport, though such freezing weather is not common in Dallas, the last couple of years 'we have been witnessing a chilling welcome into the new year!' He previously reported on a snow day in early January 2011.

    It's SNOW TIME in Big D!

     

    We knew it was going to be a White Christmas in Dallas this year as per the weather advisory, but were not aware it will turn out to be so beautiful & FREEZING cold.

     

    The temperature has dropped down from 60's to low 20's in just a day and is expected to stay the same through out the night with a high of mid 30's for the day tomorrow.

     

    I decided to take a drive,along with a friend, when the snow just started to settle down and trust me it was beautiful all around the Addison area in Dallas. The Addison airport was clad in a thick white blanket, while several cars around the city had big coating of snow all over them. Some of the Christmas lights looked stunning in white background after the sunset.

     

    Though, such freezing weather is not usual in Dallas, but since couple of years we have been witnessing chilling welcome into the new year!
