The travel day after Christmas was a tricky drive from the Pittsburgh area to Northern VA, Washington D.C. area. The Pennsylvania Turnpike, Interstate 70 & 270 were scattered with abandoned, crashed, and disabled vehicles. Tractor trailer trucks could not make it up certain hills such as Town Hill. Breezewood, PA was scattered with Tractor Trailer trucks and vehicles that were spun out, making it a 40 to 70 minute trip once off the PA turnpike to Interstate 70. The snow and sleet turned to downpours about 50 mile from Northern VA.
