    A Journey of the Heart

    This is about my three-week trip in 1998 across China by rail and bus to the Old Town of Lijiang in SW China's Yunnan Province to locate the descendants of the Naxi people who settled in this area...I had seen the National Geographic documentary on television a few years previous and was determined to find these people whom I grew acquainted with from viewing heartwarming story filmed by a British man who lived in "Dayan" or the Old Town for two years. This past October, I returned to this ancient town and resumed my friendship with the daughter of one of the families featured in this documentary.
