Lucky 13 - El Paso, Texas

Happy New Year from downtown El Paso, Texas. It's the border town of Juarez, Mexico. The west most part of Texas. I drove from California to Texas for the holidays and El Paso is the place you stop at the Half-way point. I heard of a cool party downtown at a club called Lotus. A street New Year's Eve party with thousands of people. They dropped a LED ball hung from a crane and lowered at midnight. Check out my photos of the 2013 moment. It was exciting and cold, about 35 degrees.

I love New Year's Eve because it is one of those events everyone in the world celebrates in some way together. Even China!

2012 was awesome for me: Scuba in Panama, experiencing the Mayan Chichen Itza Equinox near Cancun, covering hurricane Sandy in New York, receiving the CNN community award & visiting the headquarters in Atlanta, cooking for Gordon Ramsay, spending time with Spiderman creator Stan Lee at comic-con, interviewing my idol Jane Goodall, visiting the beautiful Sequoia forest, meeting amazing animals, riding in a De Lorean, doing crazy 5k's, a life changing 3 days with Dalai Lama, and so much more that you can see in my CNN iReports. http://ireport.cnn.com/people/ChrisMorrow

What's up for 2013? I'm  focusing on health with doing more 5k's, possibly finishing writing my book, learning to become a better journalist with the help from CNN and making everyday the best day of my life! :) Remember, happiness resides inside of us not outside of us.

How did you celebrate New Year's Eve?

A mind wishing to benefit other people and other sentient beings is the very basis of peace and happiness. Dalai Lama -
