Bird and The Last Sunset
Afternoons in Lalazar Creative Education Resources learning Center Rawalpindi are spent with two young Teachers whose major subject is Mathematics but they are keen to improve their English Language skills specially the pronunciation. Being the senior experienced English Literature and Language expert I am desperately trying to revive the once grand standard of spoken English form in my adopted country, in the sub continent once under colonial rule.Then the native leaders had their linguistic influence which gradually diminished as the local colors took effect.Well, we were trying to articulate the stress on 'subject' and verb' difference when the call for prayers was heard.'Madam its the last evening of ...2012' and Lo I quickly picked up my Canon Power Shot and stepped on the terrace.As I looked up at the roof there perched elegantly and stylishly was a light brown bird...firm in her stance and gazing Westward,watching the setting orange sun,everyone calling it 'The Last of 2012' and I wondered about the thoughts gathering in the little mind of The High Flier' who had graced the cornice of our humble shelter. 'Learning a Language Eh? she seemed to say' Look at the Glory of Time and The majesty of The Supreme first, do you realise how moments quickly pass away? and as I clicked the button on the blue Canon powershot, the bird flew away. 'There is providence in the vision of a sparrow' my mind flashed and I said to the young student who appeared sad at the growing shadows...'This bird is the harbinger of Good Happy Times' we have faith trust and hope'we shall win but we must pray' My student smiled and I was happy for I felt at least she understood the philosophy of aesthetic realism as Nature so reveals to us.
