The fiscal cliff: Messages to Washington

    Balancing a budget for dummies

I work to support individuals with disabilities desire to return to work. I make not great money doing what I love to do. I am appalled by what is presently going on in this country. For one, Congress just got a raise? Granted it's 1% or less, but I previously worked three years without a raise because of cuts to social services budgets. Republicans want us to tax those who make over $400,000 a year? Is that so they don't have to pay higher taxes making less than that? Let's look at the big picture, the majority of people are struggling to make ends meet and have to watch the pitiful attempts by Congress to do their jobs? It's sickening.
I personally would like to elect new congressmen or women and start fresh. Where is Occupy Congress when you need them? If a congress person had to live on my salary, balance my checkbook and support kids on one income, they would either object to such a notion and probably wouldn't know what to do with the small figures in front of them. There needs to be a movement and it needs to start now!
