Happy New Year! My name is Gary Blackburn, 42 years old, from Columbus, Ohio, living in Fort Pierce, Florida. I moved down here in 2009 due to health issues; I have been on disability since that Summer. On July 14th, 2010, I decided I had enough, and started my diet. On that date, I weighed 538.8 pounds. I started slowly, barely being able to walk far without tiring out, so I focused mainly on cutting calories. After several months I started walking, and still remember the first day I did half a mile. That became a mile, then 2 miles a day. The last 12 months I walk 4.5 miles a day, and work out five days a week. As of today, 12/31/12, I am at 223.4 lbs. In 29 months I have now lost 315.4 pounds. It's been a long journey, and I've had to make adjustments to my diet as I went, but I've done it. I am more focused on body shaping and wellness than I am strictly weight loss; bulking up is as important, if not more, than those 30 pounds of fat. I have a weight loss/inspiration Facebook page, and my story was featured in the Hometown News here in Fort Pierce earlier this month. I truly want to inspire people to do what they need to do, that it's possible. I've helped several people in the community, as well as my brother, who has lost 160 pounds. Here are my two Facebook pages: https://www.facebook.com/#!/ https://www.facebook.com/#!/WillpowerAndDetermination
My first picture uploaded, was a month after I started. God Bless.
