    Edinburgh's Hogmanay Celebrations

This year the 'Lucky 13' Hogmanay celebrations of Edinburgh, Scotland welcomed over 80,000 people from around the world to the city's huge street party. It is one of the largest street party celebrations in Europe to welcome the new year. There were five stages along Prince's Street and its gardens with stunning views of Edinburgh Castle. Festive fireworks at 9pm, 10pm, and 11pm built the crowd's enthusiasm and, at midnight, I captured this video of the fireworks' finale. It was a fantastic night despite the cold weather! On New Year's Day there have been dog sled races as well as the traditional 'Loony Dook' swim in the freezing waters of the Forth River!
