I should not be, but I truly am, stunned at the Hubris and Cowardice by those in Congress in a defining moment in the history of our great Nation.

It can no longer be denied by the American People, that those who questionably serve our country in Congress are more interested in serving themselves and their parties than they are in the health and security of the Nation. For the last four (4) years this elected Congress has been screaming about President Obama’s lack of Leadership. Where is the leadership in Congress?

The list is long and possible ramifications huge in what could realistically happen because of the cowardice in Congress. First on the list is an obvious dip in the stock market because the world will realize Congress has actually led us off the cliff and really do care more about their party and their careers than they do the nation.

Those that are in desperate need of the life line of an unemployment check or the elderly for a social security check might not be able to stay sheltered, provide food on the table or pay for medication.

Credit rating agencies may lower our the nations credit rating making it more difficult for countries around the world to lend the US money which may increase the interest rate for the money we do borrow making it even more expensive and in fact raising the national debt. This could actually lead to a Global Financial Panic and corresponding International Depression!

China is laughing at us all the way to the bank.

Finally, the Congress has actually put our country in danger by refusing to act appropriately to fund the military appropriately along with other major programs that keep our Nation safe. This is a ‘Profile in Cowardice’.

We should require those in Congress and the Senate that created the fiscal cliff to resign if they ended up leading us over it and ban them from serving in any form of public office or civil service for life.

Is this really a Congress or a Senate, you as an American Citizen, feel comfortable making the hard decisions to do what is right for our great Nation? I don’t know about you but I am terrified that the Cowards in the Congress lack a real sense of what is right and wrong.How can we expect our children to make the right decisions in life about standing up for those being bullied, not cheating, and being integrity based when we have those leading our country in this manner? We are always asking what kind of message is being sent by a professional athlete using steroids, what kind of message is Congress sending to our children?
