    Annual Coney Island Polar Bear plunge- Today-Jan Ist-2013

    The Coney Island Polar Bear Club held it's annual plunge into the Atlantic today. Outside temperature was around 34 degrees F. The turn out was amaziing. Thousands showed up, local and from all over the world, some to plunge and others to watch.It was especially good because some fund raising was going on. Coney Recovers on the boardwalk for Sandy and You Gotta Believe, adoption for older kids inside Toms restaurant.DJ music, and lots of interesting characters and costumes around as usual. See photos.- Mermaid preps to plunge--Some registered and running to go in-- Fit and wet specimen just took plunge returns. Brrrr!
