    Winter Sunrise - Yosemite National Park

    This photo of El Capitan was captured at sunrise from Valley View in Yosemite National Park. A winter storm had just passed through the previous day and blanked the valley with a coat of fresh snow. As the sun started rise, the snow started to evaporate and left a nice layer of fog on the ground.  In order to get the foreground composition right, I had to spend a good 20 minutes standing in the freezing Merced River.
