    Your 'Aha' weight-loss moments

    MIchelle's Weight Loss Journey

My name is Michelle and I have lost 137 pounds in the last 2 years.

In January 2011 I weighed in at 357. I couldn't breathe. I ate, slept, and worked and that was it. I was getting to the point where I was scared of dying. A wife and a mother or 2 young girls, I needed to take care of myself.

I joined an online website called Sparkpeople. They have an amazing calorie/exercise tracker. The first few months all I could do is walk. Slowly I increased my exercise. Month by month I was shedding pounds and by the end of July I had lost 100 pounds.

Since then I have lost another 37 pounds with some struggle in 2012. I started feeling bad in February and I went to the doctor. I ended up having 3 heart stents put in. I was sick. I am only 30 years old. The doctor told me if I wouldn't have lost the weight the previous year it could have been much worse. Probably open heart surgery.

I'm looking forward to reaching my goal weight this year.
I started my own Facebook page named "Leaving Obesity Behind" where I currently have 10,700 followers. I'm hoping I can motivate others, and let them know they can change their life through changing your diet and exercise.

    Thank you!
    Michelle
