    LIVES LOST ON THE ROAD

In modern days life halts without communication . People spend more time in transportation whether it is by road, railway or air travel . While going out nobody is sure if he/she will come back home in one piece or without injury.
Road accident is one among these fatalities.
There are several vehicles jam the street . They are , heavy vehicles like truck, four wheelers, two wheelers and pedestrians.
According to one survey , Road Traffic accidents kill more than 120 lakh people and injure more than 50 crore people world wide every year.
The global annual cost due to road accident is $2,30,000million .
In India, 1,20,000 people die and 12,70,000 sustain serious injuries , lose some part of their body every year. There is one death in every 6 minutes and this is expected to escalate one death in every 3 minutes by 2020. 10% of world's road accident occurs in India.According to WHO survey in 2009 more number of Indian people die because of road accidents than any other country in the world .
There are some common causes responsible for these mishaps in India.
Infrastructure development of roads are not enough with population growth.
Lack of proper traffic rules and unerring implementation and execution.
Carelessness of masses about their own life or they need more awareness campaign.
Problems are eye catching but solutions far from reality. Accodring to Global status report on road safety (2009) published by WHO, developed countries showing significant result of reducing road accidents. Not blind imitation but applying those techniques physically, mentally necessary .
