Jackfruit from the roadside stalls in Thailand

Fresh fruits are so readily available at roadside stalls all over Thailand. When visiting, be sure you try a jackfruit - it looks like a smelly Durian, but it sure isn't. The velvety meat and its sweet taste is nothing at all like any fruit you can find in the West. Warning: it may make you crave even more exotic readily available (depending on the season) Thai fruits such as rambutan and mangosteens.
