I was 17 and 315 lbs. Tired of being the heavy kid, I decided to change myself for the better. It started with a diet which over 2 years helped me lose over 60 pounds. However, I still didn't like the way I looked, and felt that despite losing 60 lbs, I was still considered the heavy kid around. That's when a new change happened. During the summer of 2005 I started lifting and running with friends and my brother, through which lost an additional 10 pounds over the summer. Hooked now I spent the next 2 years working out 5 days a week and transforming my life. As the weight came off, my confidence grew, my grades improved, and in general I was a much happier person. I went from being 17 and 315 to 23 and 185. It has been a few years and I am now 29, but have maintained a good weight at around 191 pounds. I plan to never go back to the way I was, and try to motivate those around me who wish to lose weight themselves. If I could do it being who I was, and how much I used to eat and not take care of myself, anyone can make the transformation.
