    Snow in Texas

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     goodall123 photographed the snowy grounds outside of the Presidio de San Saba Historic Site in Menard, Texas on January 4. She says the inch and a half of snow came from recent snowfall which started shortly after midnight on the 4th. She says although it has been colder than usual, she welcomes the snow because of the drought conditions the area was facing recently. 'It was also beautiful, and it made the ruins look peaceful,' she said. Her image was featured as CNN's Travel Photo of the Day for March 19, 2013.

    This photo was taken Jan 4. It is the Presidio de San Saba´, in Menard, Texas. It is spanish fort built in 1757 to to protect a nearby mission, as well as the northernmost spanish frontier ot that time. My husband and I are volunteer site hosts and live at this site.
