14 yr old nude photo not removed by FB
The story from the comments on the photo appears to be that the girl had sent the photo to the boy. He was mad at her and posted it to Facebook.
I promptly called Cincinnati police because the girl was a minor plus the boy's profile had him as 22 and living in Cincinnati. I was routed to the Personal Crimes unit, and someone returned my call several hours later. The Personal Crimes detective said that it was not considered an emergency, so she had to wait for FB to contact her. In the meantime she gathered information. We had given the link path to the first officer we spoke with, so she had no issues pulling up the photo.
The photo was up all day. The FB reporting feature did not result in it being taken down. The police also did not have an easy way to contact FB. Meanwhile, the photo spread to 1000's with people commenting from as far away as Texas with 1100+ comments and many likes. The photo was also downloaded hundreds of times. She is 14!!! In the end, it appears it was the 16 yr old boy who deleted the photo instead of the adults who had been notified!
The girl deleted her FB profile and left home. She was finally located a few hours ago and returned to her home. The 16 yr old boy has made a FB apology that seems sincere.
Call me old, but I'm shocked that the response was not faster. Both of the parties involved are minors. It was a full NUDE photo of a 14 yr old girl!
