    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Clinical research manager importsport's first and most memorable Tube experience was on his first trip to London. He was in the city for a teaching course when he decided to see the sights on a dinner excursion. "Each night I would take advantage of several free hours, duck down into the underground and find a new restaurant in different areas of the city," he said. "Without the convenience of the Tube this wouldn't have been feasible."

    Few cities rival the ease of transport that one finds in London's Underground. Even for a novice, as I was when this photo was taken, the tube is easily understood and offers any visitor a unique glimpse into the city's culture and history. During this visit, I was teaching an intense five full-day course to students in the city. Each evening I had a small window of time to venture out for dinner, enjoy the city, and duck back to my hotel to grade the day's exam. The convenience of the tube made it possible for me to venture out quickly and enjoy much more of the city than I could have otherwise.
