Gun Control will never work. Lets take a fast look into the past.
Germany did it in the 1930's, Millions died because they couldn't stop the goverment from killing them.
Recently Australia did it. Violent crime has risen roughly 300% because of it.
Our founding fathers created the second amendment because of the fear of tyranny. And registration leads to confiscation. Confiscation leads to extermination.
Only law abieding citizens would follow the law and turn in and or register their guns. How many nations have to be dumb enough to prove that this socialist idea does not work.
While Bill Clinton was president, he suggested what Wayne LaPierre suggested a few short weeks ago. When Clinton said it it was the greatest idea ever, yet when a member of the NRA says it he is considered crazy. That is a double standard that the main stream media needs to knock off.
Senator Feinstein also holds a double standard, she has a Concealed Weapons Permit in the state of California. I have tried to gain one in California and have been unable to do so because my reason is not good enough. What kind of double standard is that?
If you want violent crime to drop stop taking the plays of Chicago and New York because obviously the whole tough on guns does not work. Crime is lower in parts of the country were guns are a part of culture and the ability to get a CWP is easier than in places like California. As a college student I studied Criminal Justice. And I learned that you can't leave crime fighting to just the Police because a cop cannot be everywhere at once.
The Brady campaign, The Obama administration, Senators Feinstein,Schumer and Gillibrand and Rep. Pelosi as well as Mayor Bloomberg and Gov. Cuomo all have twisted the statistics to fit their ideas for gun control. The CDC themselves have said Guns kill less people than hammers and baseball bats yet you don't hear them screaming for them to be banned. They also call AR-15 rifles "Assult Rifles" however that is impossible because that would mean that the rifle would have to do an action it is inccapable of on its own. And AR does not stand for Assult Rifle it stands for Armalite Rifle, the first manufacturer of it.
So people blamming guns for killing people also are saying pencils misspell words, spoons make people fat, cars make you drive drunk and Walmart makes you spend money.
As a member of the NRA I do not always agree with their message or ideas. But they stand for the Constitution which made our nation great. Because without the 2nd Amendment the rest of it is useless.
As a soldier I raised my right hand and said the following oath: I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God. As you can see the president comes after the constitution. Alot of Police agencies use this oath as well. The President as well as congress use the first part, and yet everysingle day I see Senators and Congressman talk about banning guns. That makes you in violation of your oath. Start out your new terms rereading and following this document before you pit the people against eachother and against the goverment. Americans are very forgiving but if you take their freedoms they have been know to revolt, ask Great Britian about that. That started over gun control by the way.
I hate to watch my Elected officials destroy what hundreds of thousands of soldiers have fought and died to defend. Instead of enacting new laws for gun control, relax some and enforce the ones you have already on the books. Prevent criminals from getting them. And to prevent further violence against our kids do what Bill Clinton and Wayne LaPierre suggested, put armed guards in schools. And to do that hire Vets, they love their country and most are parents so they would love to protect their kids schools. Like the badge Drill Sargents in the Army wear says, "this we'll defend".
And like Marine Joshua Boston said, I am not your subject. I do not bow to you, we pay you to represent us, follow what all of America wants, not what the few elitest want.
If you want to ban guns, Fire the entire Secret Service, and your private security officers and see how safe you feel then.
To really make fair and balanced gun laws, bring in Police officers, lower enlisted Military and not your yesman Generals, normoral Citizens and gun owner support agency personnel like the NRA, USCCA, or the NAGR. But before you do that enforce all the laws currently on the books. See how far you get.
