Georgia mother saves her family
A Georgia mother was home with her 9-year old twins when an ex-convict knocked on her door. Thinking it was a solicitor, she told her children not to answer the door. The door knocking and doorbell ringing persisted and became more frequent.
The mother called her husband at his work and then hid in a crawlspace with her children. The husband called 911.
While waiting for the police to arrive, the ex-convict forced open the door of the house. He made his way to the home office and opened the closet where the mother and children were hiding. The mother then shot the intruder with a .38 caliber revolver.
While he was on the floor crying, she told him to stay down, or she would shoot him again. She and her children escaped to safety at a neighbor's house.
Police arrived and found the burglar in a neighbor's driveway bleeding profusely from the gunshot wounds inflicted by the mother while protecting her family.
The burglar was taken for medical care and is expected to recover.
