This iReport is part of an assignment:
Remembering MLK |
I Still Dream
This original oil on canvas painting was created in 2001 as part of my senior thesis for my BFA from Corcoran Collage of Art and Design in Washington, DC. I chose to paint Dr. King, Abernathy and Rev. Jessie Jackson as they prayed before a civil rights march. I used the muted colors to exress the mood of the civil rights era. As an artist I want to encourage everyone that we all are responsible for making Dr. King's dream a reality. The dream still lives!
