My AR-15 is NOT an Assault Rifle
I recently watched several different items on CNN and found myself arguing with the mis-informed journalists on my television. I watched Piers Morgan essentially call Alex Jones a wacko, for exercising his First Amendment right. A right that Piers Morgan doesn't have as he isn't an American Citizen. I listen to the lies from all the journalist calling my AR-15 an "assault weapon" this is not correct. "An assault rifle is a selective fire (either fully automatic or burst-capable) rifle that uses an intermediate cartridge and a detachable magazine." (taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_rifle) The AR-15 that you are so against is NOT a SELECT FIRE weapon, and therefore NOT an assault rifle. I've also listened to others sit there on national television and call the AR-15 a 'high powered assault weapon' this is simple ludicrous, the AR-15 uses .223 caliber ammunition, making it essentially the third or fourth LEAST powerful firearm caliber in the world.
Attached to this you see Images of my AR-15 on the couch and in my hands at the shooting range. The so called "deadly" features do not in any way increase the weapon's leathality, they are simply ergonomic devices to make shooting the weapon easier and more comfortable for multiple shooters. The adjustable stock and bipod allow even my eight-year old daughter to fire the weapon. Without the adjustable stock my girlfriend, and mother of two of my children wouldn't be able to handle the weapon at all. Included as well is an example of a weapon that has no sporting purpose and is exclusively designed to kill human beings: a Japanese styled Katana sword, yet this item can be purchased freely over the internet without any form of background check what-so-ever.
