    HOW MANY GUNS DOES A PERSON NEED?

    I am an American-I do not own a gun. I do wonder however, how many guns does a person need to protect themselves? I cannot understand or believe how our US Government has not taken any steps towards controlling guns, Even with the near murder of Gabriel Giffords, one of their own. She is SOOO brave-it is a slap in the face to she and all gun violence victims to continue allowing guns in the hands of killers. Or, in the hands of just a normal person-UNTIL that person gets mad and wants to get even for something he or she does not like. I have seen in a local store two young boys, one about 14 the other about 17 inquiring and asking questions at the gun counter about certain weapons, and the store personnel actually answering them. As people are stockpyling guns, they need to research in history as to why the Right to Bear Arms was even put into the Constitution. They may just be surprised. Truthfully, how many times in the past 100 years have we actually fought a war IN the United States? We are just waging war on ourselves at this point. Very sad. I believe owners of all guns need to renew their FOID cards every year. With a THOROUGH background and mental history check before renewing each time. It is well worth the time and money to do this to save an innocent life. Gunowners should read about or view photos of the Civil War to see what suffering these guns bring.Most of those men were just babies, had no idea of what "war" was. A gun does not make you a man. It makes you a possible murderer. Most of the time a gun will never need to be used, but may get into the hands of your precious children or grandchildren who do not know what destruction guns can do. Amen.
