If I met A person who had never heard of Martin Luther King Jr. and I was going to explain to them who and what he was, I would focus on what he represented for America. He was a great leader who was an activist in the events leading to the creation of the Bill of Rights. Dr. king represents the hardships and challenges of the fight against segregation that African American citizens went through to ensure a future of racial equality. Now he wasn't the only person or even leader to make sacrifices in trying to end segregation. There where many great leaders at the time who where jailed, assaulted, and disrespected by those who enforced segregation and wanted it to stay intact. But it was Martin Luther King Jr.'s approach with peaceful protest that set him out among others, He proved that non violence was an affective way to win battles. And with his speeches and great integrity he led people on, and became a figure of racial equality in the United States of America. We celebrate this great mans life because he gave the ultimate sacrifice to see his dream come true, and to thank him for what he has done for America. If I met A person who had never heard of Martin Luther King Jr. and was going to explain to them who and what he was, I would focus on what he represented for America.
