Gun control debate: Background checks |
Speaking up so tyranny cannot gain a foothold
The right to bear arms: When it comes to the 2nd ammendment, the Constitution is very clear. "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed". Many Americans and one Piers Morgan forget the reason our founding fathers included this essential section in The Bill of Rights...TO PROTECT US FROM THE GOVERNMENT! It is the right of the people to be well armed in the oppostition of tyranny. Case closed.
I am in awe that bureaucrats like Diane Feinstein defy the oath of office and try to destroy our sacred Constitution. I am very afraid of people like Diane Feinstein that tell me I can't defend myself because the supreme law of the land clearly says I can. To reinforce my point I'd like to quote one of the greatest patriots in our great nation's history "When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson.
One thing I have yet to see CNN examine is the case of the handgun ban in Chicago. If Piers Morgan happens to see my letter I would love for him to explain this one.
Respectfully submitted,
B. Daugherty
