The good old Florida Democratic “Duty to retreat Law”

Ah yes the good old days when the Democrats ruled Florida and there was no Castle Doctrine. (Even though I know a lot of Democrats that have guns and support the 2nd amendment the party was hijacked by the liberal left.) Those were the good old days when by law if someone broke into your domicile at 3:00 AM you had the duty to retreat. What that meant that is you had to do everything in your power to retreat from the threat. You had to try to exit your domicile and leave the home invasion artist to do whatever he wanted. Or leave the ally you were in. Or leave the car you were in. And if you used deadly force you better be able to prove that you tried to escape and could not. Even then you may be put into jail while you were proving it. Now this is particularly tricky in South Florida where many live in high rise condos, apartments and townhomes. Usually with one exit and several floors up. Doesn’t it sound much better when you essentially disarm a law abiding citizen?
