This iReport is part of an assignment:
Gun control debate: Background checks |
Guns don't kill people...The Media does.
As I watch the coverage on the Gun debate I can't help but wonder...
WHY does the media refuse to cover positive gun stories?
WHY does the media continue to display stories in a manner that would make one think guns could walk talk and have an independent life of their own?
I don't understand how the largest part of this nation who either uses guns for sport, self defense as a last measure, a tool for protecting farmland or an antique collector's display be vilified.
We still and always seem to push the inner city story line on guns?
Some (or many) would say it's some sort of connection with our president...or said suppressing traditional values..
Ummmm...I don't think so.
If I had to make a logical guess...Which is the most any of us can do.....I would think it's because they do what they do...
Cover the crime...Cover the extreme...Cover the bad guys bringing on excess.
Wouldn't be so exciting doing a story on farmer Ted trying to keep varmints out of his corn field would it?
Or covering some PC contrary story where someone or their family is living now....Not then....But NOW...because of a gun..
WHERE ARE THE POSITIVE GUN STORIES???
WHERE ARE THEY?
We all...At least anyone such as myself who grew up around guns their whole life and sees them in the same light as a hammer or any other tool...don't get the complete bias against LAW ABIDING citizens..??!?!?
Can we all agree that the problem is criminals and not guns?
Is that such an unreasonable request of one singular brain cell?
What do you think of this story?
