Universal Background Checks
With gun show and private sale exemptions approximately 40% of all guns are sold without a background check. Its time to change that. Require every gun sale have a background check.
Another common sense step is to require manufacturers, gun distributors and gun dealers keep an electronic database that the police can access with a warrant to see who the gun was sold to.
The third common sense change that needs to be made is to limit magazines to 5 rounds. Give regulated ranges an exemption so that folks can fire larger magazines there.
None of these steps would interfere with anyone's Second Amendment right to bear arms.
