Gender equality in Awramba:-a model community in Ethiopia

I had a chance to visit this community sometime ago. I found out that they are astonishing. In their style of living, men are equal to women, women can do what a man can do! This is not very common in Ethiopia but these people are actually doing it. Men do what is considered as women only Job, baking local steeple food known as "injera". Women do plough which is highly considered as men's Job. Another amazing thing is that they share what they produce equally whether someone produced much more than the other. This way they avoid conflicts and share love. They have a place for elderly people who are not productive anymore. In this place, they are fed and well protected; something very unusual in many places in Ethiopia. A family can only have 2 kids! They have numerous wonderful stories and are considered as a model for the rest!

In the photo, the man wearing a white hat is the founder of this community! When you have a chance to visit Ethiopia, never come back without visiting them!
