Surviving the flu |
Mama's Chicken Soup
When my mom was alive, God bless her soul, she would give me chicken soup. Not just ordinary chicken soup from a can, but soup made from scratch. Soup made from love.
There was something about her making the time and effort to make and bring me soup that always got me well again. I survived many colds and flues with her method of love.
But now that she is not here, I have to rely on commercials remedies. For lunch or dinner I pick up some Wor Wonton soup, which has a good broth. Or I will get some Pho soup, which always hits the stop and clears my sinuses.
When the soup method does not work, then I resort to DayQuil and NyQuil. If all else fails, then a visit to the doctor is in order.
A combination of soup and over the counter/subscription help me make it through the day/night.
