This iReport is part of an assignment:
Your 'Aha' weight-loss moments |
This is what healthy FEELS like...
With the help of Healthy Living Magazine (Akers Media Group), I assembled and worked with a team of professionals, including Kris Rosado, personal trainer; Al Cardiello, owner of Infinity Fitness/Omni Fitness and personal trainer; Lori Esarey, a nutritionally trained nurse practitioner and owner of Total Nutrition & Therapeutics; Linda Ryan, an esthetician trained in Endermologie (lipomassage, a body sculpting technique) at Vitality Wellness & Aesthetics; Dr. Todd Ginestra, board certified plastic surgeon at Mesos Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center; and, Larry Blevins, board certified physician’s assistant specializing in general and cosmetic surgery at Mesos Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center. I lost 276 pounds WITHOUT BARIATRIC SURGERY during the first 15 months of my lifestyle transition. Over the following 12 months I lost an additional 46 pounds. After months of body sculpting and toning, I elected to have two cosmetic procedures to remove excess skin. The first procedure, a central body lift, removed 8 pounds of skin from my mid-section. The procedure is compared to a tummy tuck, but also removes excess skin from the back. Five months after that procedure, my second procedure was completed. It was a medial thigh lift. During that procedure, 5 pounds of skin were removed.
My other iReport on my “Aha” Weight Loss Moments goes further in depth, but I was unable to upload this recent video to that story. I wanted to share this video that was featured on local FOX affiliate, WOFL-35 on January 7, 2013.
Health doesn’t always equate to a number on a scale. Furthermore, regardless of one’s current health state, they can improve their circumstance through diet and adaptive exercise. I am thrilled to have an opportunity to inspire and motivate others to seek their own journey to improved health. Presently, I am working, along with a team of professionals, to assist two others on their own very public journey to improved health and lifestyle change. I am also speaking with groups of people who are embarking on their own wellness challenge. Childhood obesity prevention and motivating the morbidly obese to seek am improved quality of life are especially important to me.
