Havana, Cuba
A game without Borders, Baseball in Havana Cuba
Havana Cuba, where baseball is more than just a pastime, in fact to most of the young men in the country the game has an almost spiritual importance. Never ending Sandlot style competitions litter the country. Professional players are revered like saints, as baseball might be the only chance for these young men to escape poverty in a nation where upward mobility is severely limited. There is a pure beauty watching these unspoiled athletes enjoy themselves playing a game that transcends language, borders and even time. Wake up, grab your mitt, and play till the sun goes down. Wash, rinse, and repeat. Human jazz.
Stay dangerous,
Neff
